designer spotlight: Eileen Kathryn Boyd
A lot of you are probably familiar with this picture from the blogesphere by design Eileen Kathryn Boyd.
It was a featured room in the 2009 Kips Bay Show house. Even though that was several years ago, I still find this room both invigorating and soothing, a not so easily done combination. The balance of colors is absolutely perfect. Even the the room at first glance seems very colorful its actually mostly a calming shade of green with fuchsia and tangerine accents. Her other rooms are certainly worth a closer look. Color balance is a tricky thing that very few designers really seem to get a taste for/ get the hang of and she is definitely right up there with the best of them.
