Drawing Glass
Today I was trying to capture both the texture and translucency of thick glass bowls. Again, I used my Wacom tablet and pen with Artrage and a variety of settings- though mostly watercolor. I ended up with three bowls and they’re posted in the order they were drawn. With art rage you can select an area then only draw in that area. After the first bowl I realized I could use the ellipses to basically mask off the shape of the bowl then fill it in. I also used a variety of tools for the different textures from “stencils” to “spray stickers”. I’m still not 100% satisfied with how I approximate watercolors, but overall I think the results are pretty good. I especially love the UNDO button. With one click I can get rid of any mistake where as before, I had to either live with it or throw out the entire drawing.
